Organization expert and coach Cassandra Aarssen provides tips for individuals and families who are feeling overwhelmed by household clutter and chaos in this new self-shot series, which premieres tonight with two back-to-back episodes. Each half hour opens with Aarssen taking a virtual tour of a client’s home, which typically is out of control via overflowing playrooms, stuffed kitchens and impassable, jam-packed basements. In addition to offering practical help, Aarssen also occasionally delivers emotional payoffs, as with a teary woman who uncovers an engagement ring she thought was lost forever.
Bishop and Pike’s (Noel Clarke, Ashley Walters) search for a missing girl leads them to Amsterdam, where they stumble upon a sizable human-trafficking ring run by the Markides family in the new “Episode 3.” Meanwhile, the Unit tries to exploit escalating tensions among Alex, Mikey and Eleanor (Stavros Zalmas, Ben Tavassoli, Gina Bellman). Ultimately, Bishop and Pike must take matters into their own hands after the Dutch authorities prove uncooperative.
Well before real-life events in Minneapolis thrust American race relations back into national discourse last month, HBO already had scheduled this screening of the 2004 drama that won an Academy Award as best picture. Executive producer Paul Haggis also picked up a second trophy that night for co-writing the screenplay about diverse Los Angeles residents brought together by a single, racially charged incident. The strong cast includes Sandra Bullock, Brendan Fraser, Don Cheadle and an Oscar-nominated Matt Dillon.
“First Dates” are the topic of tonight’s new episode, and as luck would have it, Amy is about to meet in person for the first time a gentleman with whom she has been enjoying a romantic correspondence. Before he arrives, though, she prepares a meal and recruits Chassie (guest star Cole Escola) to give her a makeover. After talking flower arrangements with Patty Hogg, Amy gets some first-date tips from Tony the Knife Man. Michael Shannon and Debi Mazar also guest star.
