United We Fall

8 p.m. on ABC

Desperate to pry daughter Emily (Ella Grace Helton) away from her iPad, at least temporarily, Jo and Bill (Christina Vidal Mitchell, Will Sasso) sign her up for Chuy’s (Guillermo Diaz) soccer clinic in the new episode “Participation Trophy.” Meanwhile, Sandy’s (Jane Curtin) notoriously over-the-top gift-giving habit spins totally out of control. Jason Michael Snow also stars.

9 p.m. ET on CW – Season Finale

As this gritty British crime drama closes out Season 2, the members of the unit have exhausted all their procedural options for taking down Alex and Mikey Markides (Stavros Zalmas, Ben Tavassoli), so they go off the books in a last-ditch attempt. After a critical raid goes off the rails, however, their hopes quickly start to fade. Noel Clarke, Ashley Walters, Olivia Chenery, Jason Maza and Gina Bellman also star.

Ultimate Tag

9 p.m. ET on FOX – Season Finale

“Dangerously Fast” is the title of the finale that wraps up Season 1 of this high-energy game show competition from the NFL superstar sibling trio of J.J., T.J. and Derek Watt. The final group of contestants assemble to see whether they have the right stuff to win this game, which demands that they dodge, tumble and dive their way through epic courses, while being pursued by a crew of very fit and fleet Taggers who seek to eliminate them.

The Weight of Gold

9 p.m. ET on HBO

Olympic athletes are celebrated for the strength, skill and endurance they bring to their competitions, but this new documentary from director Brett Rapkin explores the mental health challenges these same champions face. Premiering at the same time when 17,000 world-class athletes were scheduled to be competing in the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo, Japan, the film features candid commentary from swimmer Michael Phelps — the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time — along with such other high-profile Olympians as Bode Miller, Sasha Cohen and Shaun White, among many others.
