iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Greatest Moments

8 p.m. on CW

This year’s new “iHeartRadio Jingle Ball” special won’t air until Dec. 14, but as a musical appetizer of sorts, this new special looks back over some of the most unforgettable highlights from past yuletide concerts as the main event approaches its 25th anniversary. The special will also include previously unseen backstage footage capturing favorite entertainers at their most candid. Featured artists include Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Lizzo, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, among many others.

The Humanity Bureau

9 p.m. on SHOWTIME – Premiere

Rob W. King’s dystopian Canadian sci-fi thriller is set In a bleak near future, wherein a government agency called The Humanity Bureau deports unproductive members of American society to a colony known as New Eden. Caseworker Noah Kross (Nicolas Cage) is baffled as to why so many people living in near squalor desperately want to stay where they are rather than be relocated, so he makes it his mission to expose the truth. Sarah Lind, Jakob Davies and Hugh Dillon also star.

9:30 p.m. ET on CBS

After Forrest (Rob Corddry) gives young Noah (Devin Bright) a water gun, Ben and Michelle (Omar Miller, Maya Lynne Robinson) quickly take it away from their son in the new episode “It’s the Thought That Counts.” The episode prompts a frank discussion among the group about racial injustice. Meanwhile, Wade (Walton Goggins) tries to figure out an appropriate yet meaningful way to celebrate Shannon’s (recurring guest star Natalie Zea) birthday, given how recently they met.

Katherine and Theo (Grace Park, Tristan Byon) adjust to a new reality after Eddie’s (David Giuntoli) accident, while Rome’s (Romany Malco) lingering resentment over the failed adoption causes tension with Regina (Christina Moses) in the new episode “Writings on the Wall.” Elsewhere, Gary (James Roday Rodriguez) tries to stay friends with Maggie (Allison Miller) while also building his relationship with Darcy (Floriana Lima). Stephanie Szostak also stars.
