2020 BET Awards

8 p.m. on CBS

The annual ceremonies celebrating African-Americans and other American minorities in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment over the past year air live in most markets from Los Angeles, with actress and comic Amanda Seales serving as host. Among this year’s field of nominees, Drake leads with six nods, followed by Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricci with five each. Ricci, Danileigh, Lil Nas X, Pop Smoke, Summer Walker and Ybn Cordae are up for best new music artist. The awards also air on BET.


Black Monday

8 p.m. ET on SHOWTIME

Season 2 began back in March, but was forced to go on hiatus after six of 10 episodes had aired due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which shut down post-production work on the final four episodes. Those final shows resume tonight, as the story picks up with a new episode called Who Are You Supposed to Be?


Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks

8:30 p.m. ET on NATGEO

An elite fleet of seven returning bluefin tuna captains risk it all again in their search for “blue gold” as this hit series returns for Season 7 with a supersized premiere, “Clash of the Titans.” Captain Dave Carraro of the, who has won the competition in Gloucester an unprecedented five times, hopes to extend his bragging rights as he makes his first trip to the Outer Banks. Joining him are fan favorite Paul Hebert and Carraro’s longtime mate Sandro Maniaci. Captain Greg Mayer of the Fishin’ Frenzy also returns.


I’ll Be Gone in the Dark

10:07 p.m. ET on HBO – Series Premiere

Based on her book of the same title, this six-part documentary explores the late writer and blogger Michelle McNamara’s investigation into a violent predator she eventually would dub the Golden State Killer. Known initially as the East Area Rapist, this serial killer terrorized California in the 1970s and ’80s, when 50 home-invasion rapes and at least a dozen murders were attributed to him. In the premiere, McNamara delves into online chat rooms and crime blogs, becoming immersed in details of the crimes committed by the still-unidentified murderer and connecting with like-minded sleuths.
