8 p.m. ET on FOOD The new primetime holiday-themed special “Cook Like a Pro: Thanksgiving Sides” finds charming chef Ina Garten focusing on her favorite part of the Turkey Day feast: the side dishes. And during the course of this hour, she leaves few veggies unturned to create stunning dishes that are so flavorful, they might well steal the spotlight from the featured fowl on the table. She also invites some of her friends to prepare their faves, including superfan Jennifer Garner, who makes her grandmother’s sweet potato casserole.

Shot on location at the historic home of music icon Elvis Presley, this new yuletide drama stars Kelly Pickler as Laurel, a Chicago businesswoman and single mom who takes young daughter Emma (Claire Elizabeth Green) with her to close a deal in her hometown, Memphis. Her visit there reunites her with Clay (Wes Brown), now a concert promoter but previously Laurel’s music partner on an act she abandoned on the verge of success. Tamara Austin and Tommy Cresswell also star.
8 p.m. ET on HBO – Premiere
Director and co-writer Steven S. McKnight’s 2018 science fiction-action film is a sequel to “Pacific Rim,” the 2013 commercial blockbuster from Guillermo del Toro, who remains attached to this follow-up as a producer. British actor John Boyega (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) stars as Jake Pentecost, son of Idris Elba’s character in the original, who joins humanity in another fight against giant monsters intent on destroying Earth. Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Burn Gorman reprise their characters from the earlier film.

Chicago app developer Amelia Hughes (Tori Anderson) is running short on holiday spirit as the yuletide approaches, so she returns to her tiny hometown to rekindle seasonal sentiments in this new drama. Her visit allows her to reconnect with Mike (Stephen Huszar), her childhood best friend, and her estranged Uncle Harry (Steven Weber), who makes a holiday tradition of delivering gifts to kids in his small private airplane. Kari Matchett also stars.

Melissa Joan Hart hosts a new special previewing this season of yuletide-themed movies on Lifetime, through the prism of a cheeky mash-up of Frank Capra’s “It’s a Wonderful Life” and Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” As Hart reflects on how dismal life would be without these annual offerings, she’s visited by the “host” of Lifetime Christmas Past, Present and Future. During this hour-long presentation, she gives viewers a peek of the 14 original offerings coming up this season.
