Malcolm D. Lee’s 2018 comedy stars Kevin Hart as Teddy Walker, who finds himself in dire professional straits several years after dropping out of high school. His only evident job prospect requires him to have a GED, so Teddy signs up for night classes that are taught by Carrie (Tiffany Haddish), a thoroughly unorthodox instructor who figures out a way to help Teddy conquer his concentration issues. Taran Killam, Ben Schwartz, Rob Riggle, Romany Malco, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Keith David co-star.
Like mother, like daughter: Beautiful but deranged student Whitney Manning (Kaitlyn Bernard) would kill to be Homecoming Queen at her school, and she means that in the most literal way, an obsession that would be described as “single-minded” if it were not so devoutly shared by her equally lunatic mother, Connie (Ashley Jones). Both women, then, are beside themselves when Natasha Hart (Kayleigh Shikanai) decides to make a run for the crown herself, thus putting a bullseye on her back. Krista Bridges co-stars.
Abby (Jonna Walsh), host of a New England web series, is summoned home to Texas by her mother to help her father (Robby Benson) on the family ranch. Upon arrival, she’s surprised to find her old flame Ryan (Nathan Parsons, “Roswell, New Mexico”) working as her dad’s ranch manager, and their old chemistry reasserts itself as they spend time together. Eventually, Abby realizes she must decide which place feels more like home, New England or the Lone Star State. Mary-Margaret Humes also stars.

Their only hope is somehow to navigate their badly damaged boat to Hawaii without a radio or other electrical devices. The movie received mixed reviews and turned a small profit.
