2018 U.S. Open Golf Championship

4:30 p.m. ET on FOX
The PGA Tour’s second major of the season gets underway today at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., which hasn’t hosted the event since 2004. Brooks Koepka won his first major tournament last year at Erin Hills in Wisconsin, but many eyes will be on Tiger Woods, who last won this event in 2008. Woods took a break after the Masters in April and has full intentions of picking up the pace this summer.

Thousands of people developed a fear of swimming — even in a lake — after viewing this 1975 thriller, but it made a young Steven Spielberg a very rich man with a still very active career. Roy Scheider stars as the brave and resourceful police chief who teams up with a marine biologist and a shark hunter (Richard Dreyfuss, Robert Shaw) to stop a killer great white from terrorizing the community. “Jaws 2” follows.

8 p.m. ET on HBO – Premiere
Nostalgia will carry you only so far, as director, screenwriter and star Dax Shepard discovered with this critically hammered 2017 buddy comedy inspired by the hit NBC series that ran from 1977-83. Shepard and Michael Pena step in for original stars Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada as California Highway Patrol officer Jon Baker and FBI undercover agent Frank “Ponch” Poncherello. Isiah Whitlock Jr., Adam Brody and Kristen Bell (Shepard’s wife) co-star in the film, which broke even at the box office.

9 p.m. ET on NBC – Season Premiere
With the episode “Model Parent,” Marlon Wayans returns with the second season of his comedy series, which is based loosely on his own experiences. His on-screen alter ego is deeply involved in co-parenting with his ex-wife (Essence Atkins), even if the advice he doles out to his kids might not always seem to be the wisest. Notlim Taylor and Amir O’Neil play the youngsters, with Bresha Webb and Diallo Riddle also in the regular cast. Another episode follows.

10:03 p.m. ET on HISTORY – Season Premiere
In Season 5, 10 former unsuccessful participants get a second shot at glory in this grueling survival series, which awards a cool half a million dollars to the most iron-willed survivor of the bunch. In the season premiere, “Redemption,” this season’s survivalists are dropped off in the most remote location yet: Northern Mongolia, where they’ll have to contend with soul-crushing subzero temperatures, deadly predators, gnawing hunger and the punishing sense of isolation.
