It’s Teen Choice time again: Fox presents annual award show

Actors, singers and athletes are award nominees again on Fox

Once again, it’s time for teens to have their say about the awards circuit.

Fox presents the 2019 edition of the midsummer staple known as Teen Choice on Sunday, Aug. 11, with surfboards as “trophies” presented to winners in areas from movies and television to music and sports. The digital world appropriately is celebrated, too, since votes were cast on a dedicated website and on Twitter in two waves over the past couple of months.

Rose McIver

A win in the choice summer TV actress category may give a last hurrah to Rose McIver for “iZombie,” the CW series that ended its five-season run at the start of this month. The pleasant talent says she’s now “gainfully unemployed for the first time in years, and it’s probably good for me to slow down and spend more time with my family. It’s very foreign to me to go back to Audition Land and not know what’s around the corner, and I think I’m excited to take that in my stride.”

McIver’s fellow Teen Choice contenders in her contest are: Chloe Bennet, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”; Hilary Duff, “Younger”; Jessica Marie Garcia, “On My Block”; Millie Bobby Brown, “Stranger Things”; and Yara Shahidi, “grown-ish.”
